Join Lee Murdock for a musical celebration of Ireland with songs from the Emerald Isle and the Irish-American immigrant experience. His musical influences span over five centuries, from ancient Celtic harp melodies to more contemporary American music. Be ready to join in a boisterous chorus of a famous Irish Pub song, share the sly joke in a humorous old ballad, and hum along to a soft Irish air or vigorous tune. Follow the Irish across The Big Pond with songs of the Irish immigrants who settled in Chicago and the Midwest. Murdock will round out the concert with an anthem honoring the Irish folks who labored to build the Illinois and Michigan Canal and those who settled on Michigans Beaver Island. Bring a picnic dinner or dessert and enjoy our intimate outdoor setting under the branches of ancient oaks with stunning views of the outstretched valley. (In the case of inclement weather, concerts will be moved indoors. No glass containers.) The next First Friday Concert is August 3 with Will Kreuger.
