The McHenry County Convention & Visitors Bureau was incorporated in 2005 as a 501(c)(6) non profit corporation in the State of Illinois with the mission to create economic growth for and to develop and promote McHenry County by effectively marketing the region as a preferred convention and visitors destination as well as enhancing the visitor's experience.

McHenry County, Illinois is located approximately 50 miles northwest of Chicago with easy access from I-90. The Fox River Valley and Chain O' Lakes region borders to the east giving way to quaint villages and expansive rolling countryside to the west. The county is traversed by routes 20, 31, 47, 120, 173 and 176 making it a convenient escape from all parts of northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.
