In 1952, a school with just 98 students won the Illinois High School Boys Basketball Championship. Competing against cities of all sizes, a tiny community of 650 grabbed the top title, and when the boys came home, the town painted the water tower to look like a basketball. That monument still stands, hovering over the town with pride. You can't miss it, and it's a story that highlights the heart of Hebron.
That hometown heritage is evident when you explore this small community. It's a place that celebrates history, which makes it a great destination for antiquing.
