It all started with a friendly challenge in Rober Blue's freshman year. His roomate bet her could make pottery better than Blue could. "I touched clay, and it was all over." He loves to "doodle three-dimensionally in the air" with earth. He and his wife, Susan Blue Galloway, produce beautiful and practical pottery in their Blue Eagle Pottery studio just outside Woodstock. Some pieces at Blue Eagle Pottery are designed for home decor, but others are functional pieces, useful in the kitchen or on the table. This is art that is meant to be used. Blue says: "I always believed that the artistry within my pottery is the act of using the piece once it is finished."
